The Opportunity:
Senior security leader responsible for enterprise network security architecture, incident response, and risk management. Partners with stakeholders to design compliant, scalable security solutions, assess emerging technologies, and strengthen defenses across complex environments using industry frameworks and advanced security tools.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a senior technical lead for the enterprise, ensuring that security designs for systems align with business objectives, network architecture, and organizational technical standards.
- Oversee and monitor network infrastructure to detect unusual activity or potential security breaches, including analyzing traffic patterns, identifying anomalies, and investigating suspicious behavior.
- Direct incident response efforts, providing guidance and hands-on support in the remediation of emerging and ongoing threats.
- Design and recommend advanced network security controls to safeguard data across systems being developed or acquired.
- Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to define complex security requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Conduct full-stack reviews of current and incoming technologies to ensure compliance with ITSEC standards.
- Develop advisory reports and recommendations based on review findings, providing actionable insights to strengthen enterprise security.
- Ensure network security architectures are consistently aligned with organizational goals, objectives, and compliance mandates.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, recommending solutions that enhance cost-effectiveness, scalability, and flexibility.
- Maintain expertise in evolving tools, techniques, and vulnerabilities, applying knowledge to proactively strengthen defenses.
- Develop and maintain documented procedures for securing internal systems and operational processes.
- Lead ongoing security assessments and audits of applications and infrastructure portfolios to identify weaknesses, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; advanced certifications (CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CCSP) strongly preferred.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a senior or principal-level role.
- Proven expertise in network security architecture, incident response, and firewall management.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, OWASP) and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability management across complex enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with a wide range of security technologies, including EDR, SIEM, WAF, IDS/IPS, firewalls, proxies, and email security solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design solutions that balance security with business needs.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and advocate for security initiatives across the enterprise.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead cross-functional projects, and deliver results in fast-paced environments.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging threats, tools, and technologies.
- Familiar with Firewall and Proxy administration.
- A solid understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and network architectures (e.g., LAN, WAN, VPN).
- Understanding of network access control mechanisms to authenticate and authorize users/devices, enforce security policies, and prevent unauthorized access to the network.
- Experience with Cisco’s security suite of products.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written/oral communications and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Solid understanding of emerging technologies in IT, such as Artificial Intelligence in Cyber Defense
