Starting Salary: $65,000-$75,000
The Opportunity:
The Technical Services Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of company facilities. This role oversees repair and maintenance activities, preventative maintenance programs, and capital upgrade projects to maximize facility uptime and ensure full regulatory compliance. The Specialist works closely with contractors, internal stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to maintain operational excellence across the real estate portfolio. This is a 12 month term role.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure repair and maintenance at facilities are executed in a safe & timely manner to cost and time (SLA) standards.
- Recommend and execute preventative maintenance programs at facilities.
- Plan and execute maintenance capital upgrades at facilities.
- Monitor all information and recommend ongoing improvements to all systems, standards and SLAs to ensure Parkland facilities “up time” is as high as possible in the most cost-effective manner.
- Ensure all facilities meet or exceed the regulatory requirements regarding testing, inspections and operations for all authorities having jurisdiction.
- Work with Various Contractors to provide information and direction for all assigned work.
Education:
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Requirements:
- 3–7 years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or real estate technical services.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical).
- Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and safety standards.
- Experience managing contractors and capital improvement projects.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
