Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineer
Description
Keystone Powdered Metal Company, a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a full-time Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineer who will be working in our St. Marys, PA location. This person will report to the Corporate EHS Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately document and maintain records pertaining to Environmental, Health, and Safety according to Local, State, and Federal Regulations
- Educate employees on safety standards and expectations through employee engagement
- Engage in safety centered continuous improvement initiatives
- Track corrective measures and ensure they are completed and effective
- Ensure employees are in adherence with rules and regulations
- Review existing policies and procedures and develop policies and procedures as needed
- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine root causes
- Track Incidents and produce reports
- Support environmental sampling events as per required by regulatory agencies
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments
- Support environmental regulatory required sampling and communications
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace
- Leading and implementing projects that achieve EHS goals
- Promote safety culture throughout the facility
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences or Occupational Health and Safety
-Computer skills including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook, Safety System Software
-Good communication skills, both written and oral
-A work ethic that includes strong desire for continuous improvement
-Able solve problems with a positive attitude and sound attention to details
-Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, competencies and location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation and benefits package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work
