Direct Buyer Coordinator

We are looking for a passionate and brilliant manager to join the Italy Purchasing Team as Direct Buyer Coordinator. She/he, based in Collegno, will report to the Corporate Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager and will coordinate a team of senior buyer. Moreover he/she will be in charge of a specific commodity.

Job Description

Develop, execute and guide the purchasing strategy. Ensure optimal agreements with mitigated risk by collaborating, providing advice, and guiding feasible and efficient procurement and purchasing processes. Promote an efficient synergie to reach the team target overseeing the activities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day activities necessary to purchase Direct Materials,  that meet the organization’s standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply;
  • Support the analysis and negotiation of supplier bids, tenders, proposals or quotations with terms that are in the organization’s best interest;
  • Prioritize projects according to potential savings (cost, value-added, etc.) and their feasibility over the short, medium, and long terms
  • Communicate with vendors to negotiate terms and conditions, contracts and resolve problems with the timeliness and quality of supplies and services;
  • Identify, research, and evaluate new possible suppliers that meet the organization’s standards of price, quality, timing and reliability of supply;
  • Support the assessment of supplier’s products and services to ensure that they comply with specifications, Law and regulations, and meet the organization’s quality&HSE standards;
  • Identify saving and improvement opportunities, possibly introducing new ways of thinking and approaches looking also at synergies within the Region and the Group;
  • Manage families and cooperate with Global Commodity Leaders worldwide to ensure the application of the global commodity strategy;
  • Enter orders for managerial approval and release;
  • Collect Purchasing related data and provide management with operational reporting and analysis;
  • Visit and audit suppliers with the aim to find saving and service/product improvement opportunities;
  • Apply the company values of Professionalism, teamwork and challenge
  • Promote and realize synergies at Group level 
  • Support other Group purchasing teams on the specific field of responsibility
  • Manage activities and result achievement of his/her direct collaborators looking for their professional growth

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to write and communicate verbally in a professional/business manner both in Italian and in English;
  • High work-ethics, discretion and confidentiality;
  • Strong fact-based negotiation skills;
  • Hard-working attitude;
  • Attitude and ability to work within an international and inter-functional team;
  • Results oriented, strong problem-solving skills, good teamwork and cooperation attitude
  • Time management, communication, conflict management and target oriented skills are required

Experience required

  • 7+ years’ experience as Direct Purchaser in a similar position;
  • Previous work-experience in automotive company is a plus
