Position at Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.

SEWS — Farmington Hills, Michigan Office.  Although located at SEWS – Farmington Hills Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work.  Associates are required to work at least two days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.  
 
 
Basic Purpose:
 
  • Act as a window person for customers.
  • Obtain customer requirements and report them to related section.
  • Analyze data and calculate pricing based on SEWS standards.
  • Assist in collection of outstanding accounts receivables.
  • Respond to customer requirements quickly in order to maintain good relationship.
  • Expand SEWS business opportunities.
 
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  1. Act as the primary Sales contact to the customer for specific commodities or vehicles.
  2. Main activity will be generating pricing for wire harnesses based on SEWS standards and new automotive model requirements.
  3. Manage pricing and analyze cost gaps from previous levels based on electrical drawings.
  4. Work as a part of a team to help negotiate and secure future business.
  5. Analyze the cost structure for both current and new products to develop strategies to improve financial results.
  6. Assist in the development of department standards and procedures.
  7. Support internal cost reduction activities, accounts receivable collections, and other activities as required.
  8. Be detail oriented, able to support others, and lead projects as required.
  
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 3-5 years experience in automotive industry preferred, but not required.
  • Bilingual in Japanese or Spanish helpful but not required.
  • Ability to multi-task, be self-directed, and experience with cost analysis/pricing systems/drawings preferred.
  • Effectively function in a multicultural environment (US and Japanese).
