Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. (SCI), a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Quotations Assistant in Mt. Prospect, IL. The position is responsible for a variety of customer service and administrative activities in our Mt. Prospect, IL office.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for customer service and administrative support activities for the quotation function, including coordinating product pricing and quotation; and for processing orders for samples and trunk stock.
- Provides Customer Support Communicating with customers on the phone, answering questions related to products, services, and quotation, and conveying message to the appropriate parties; performs any other duties as directed by management.
- Prepares Quotes by communicating regularly with sales staff, manufacturers and customers; by working with sales staff and manufacturer to create proposal or quotes; by providing requested information and documentation to Sales Staff as scheduled; and by generating and archiving quotations, proposals, and other documents in accordance with Company procedures.
- Provides Administrative Support by maintaining the filing system; by processing orders for samples and trunk stock; and by performing any other duties as directed by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Six months to one year of general office work experience
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to individuals and groups in English.
- Basic math – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and calculating percentages
- Ability to apply knowledge and common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Must be able to use a computer and applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
