Basic Purpose:
 
Quality Technician I at Ford Chicago Assembly Plant (CAP) to support Quality Residents in the coordination of containment activities and supervision of 3rd party companies related to customers concerns in Pre MP and current production issues.
 
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  1. To be in contact with customer quality representatives to review any problem reported during the launch phases.
  2. Organize containment and/or rework results and report out to QRE and /or QA manager.
  3. Work in a safe manner, maintain a safe work environment, and practice good housekeeping at all times.
  4. To perform any containment and/or rework and/or material certification at customer locations assigned by QRE and/or QA manager.
  5. Provide clean point information after any quality issue reported at customer locations.
  6. Provide support as needed to the Resident Engineer during current production.
  7. Strong communication/ interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  8. Flexibility to support other functions within the QA department, such as containment activities or QRE support.
  9. Flexibility to travel within US to other customer assembly plants and SEWS locations.
  10. Flexibility to work overtime, shifts rotations and weekends as needed.
 
 
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED, and Technical Certificate in Engineering or Industrial Technology 
  • 0.5 - 1 year of experience in a quality manufacturing environment desired 
  • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required 
  • Basic measuring tool knowledge 
  • Basic print knowledge 
  • Basic vehicle knowledge is a plus 
  • Wire harness manufacturing experience is a plus
