Join Our Team
The Financial Accountant is primarily responsible for assisting with external and internal reporting as well as the reinsurance operational and accounting processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the preparation of SEC reporting documents, including Forms 10-Q/K, earnings release and financial supplement;
- Assist with group consolidation, preparation of cash flow statement and footnotes as part of the quarterly close process;
- Assist with the preparation of standalone GAAP financial statements and Bermuda Monetary Authority reporting, including the year end BSCRs, for the Bermuda operating companies;
- Prepare supporting information and schedules for all SEC filings;
- Assist with iXBRL review on SEC reporting documents;
- Assist with monitoring, research and documentation of new accounting standards including implications on the Company’s operations, controls and financial statements;
- Prepare disclosure checklists;
- Prepare and record accounting journal entries in the general ledger;
- Assist with various account reconciliations;
- Assist with maintaining process narratives and controls under Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) regulation as relate to Financial Reporting;
- Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, legal and accounting teams to gather necessary information for internal and external reporting;
- Assist with the preparation of analysis and management reports for senior management;
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, as necessary, with regards to both the substantive audit and controls testing associated with SOX; and
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects, as required.

Your skills and abilities must include:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business.
- An internationally recognized accounting designation (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA) is preferred.
- 2-3 years of professional experience in accounting or auditing (public company auditing/SEC reporting experience in the (re)insurance industry is necessary).
- Familiarity or previous experience with Wdesk and Workday Financial Management is a plus.
- Computer Literacy – advanced Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint skills.
- Team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills plus the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
- Exceptional analytical skills needed for corporate accounting functions and fluctuation analyses.
- Commitment to meeting deadlines and ability to work additional hours as required by financial reporting deadlines.

The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000-$120,000. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only. In determining the actual salary within this range, SiriusPoint will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
