Join Our Team  
You will be a (Senior) Technical Accountant. Your role will be to assist in the day-to-day operations and deliverables of the Technical Accounting function, including recording & allocation of incoming/outgoing settlements in the accounting system (SICS), Weekly/Quarterly control reporting.
You will report to the Manager Technical Accounting on all technical accounting matters.  Additionally, the role requires significant proactive interaction with the local and group technical accounting teams to ensure Group requirements are met and to create alignment of processes.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
·         Allocation of incoming/outgoing settlements in the accounting system (SICS)
·         Maintaining financial records, keeping accounts up to date with current transaction.
·         Weekly Control Reporting, (Unsettled balances, Unsettled Remittances, Transaction Control, Return Premium Control).
·         Ensuring timely and efficient settlement of Technical Payments. 
·         Reconciliation and processing of Technical Accounts and claims in accordance with policies
·         Recording of all technical accounting correspondence within iManage document management system.
·         Assist in the development and improvement of existing group technical accounting processes.
·         Assisting with any new systems tests, changes and any process refinements in conjuction with the IT department.

Your skills and abilities should include:
  • Experience of technical accounting processes and requirements (5-10 years) preferably within (Re)Insurance.
  • Ability to work to tight timescales and meet strict business deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to manage conflicting priorities
  • Confident with a proactive approach to problem
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and
  • Strong analytical
  • Good Microsoft Office knowledge, intermediate Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
  • Knowledge of Xchanging systems.
  • Education, preferably in Finance or Accounting is a plus.
