Position Title: Shift Supervisor
Location: Neenah, WI
The Converting Center Shift Supervisors are responsible for supervising, providing technical support and guidance to converting machine crews to meet safety, quality, and production goals while collaborating with maintenance to optimize equipment. These positions will play a key role in operations leadership through the engagement of converting employees by providing visible support, fostering open communications, coaching, and developing manufacturing employees in a safety conscious environment resulting in a benchmark operations culture. The Shift Team Leads work a 12-hour shift rotation, including weekends and holidays.
- Support and enforce facility safety rules/practices and act as a positive role model for employees that creates a zero-injury culture.
- Timely completion of safety investigations, containment measures, and communication to reduce risk.
- Direct and audit effective programs for good housekeeping throughout the mill to ensure a professional atmosphere.
- Ensure that quality checks are completed and conducted according to standards that exceed customer expectations for value.
- Provide direct shift supervision to hourly crews, including the assignment and direction of work, administration of training, expectation setting, and rule enforcement.
- Effectively communicate day-to-day information on critical and routine issues affecting productivity, quality, safety, personnel, and maintenance to shift successor, along with operations management, as needed.
- Exercise participative leadership that motivates employees to achieve department production/cost requirements.
- Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results.
- Accountable for training that will provide qualified, trained, and motivated employees.
- Accurately review, approve, and address all hourly timekeeping to ensure accurate payment for time worked.
- Administer company policies and the Labor Agreement properly and consistently.
- Maintain labor relationship through cooperation and team supportive efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and Oracle applications
- Minimum of three years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment – preferably in the papermaking or converting industry
