KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE

Plans and prepares production schedules for the manufacturing of company products by performing the following duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews & maintains the master schedule to follow established sequence on work centers
  • Prints & distributes production orders to shop floor
  • Ensures production finishes jobs by ship dates according to customer orders & job due dates
  • Recommends improvements to management based on the schedule and resource analytics.
  • Confers with department managers to determine status of schedule and associated projects.
  • Expedites operations that delay production schedules; alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Works with procurement on material requirements & expedites as needed
  • Works with customer service & sales to maintain inventory projections on blanket orders & consignment stocks
  • Review & maintain safety stock inventories
  • Prints & distributes production orders to shop floor
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus but not required

Required Knowledge Skills & Experiences:

  • Proficient with computers and the Microsoft suite. Effectively present information and respond to questions from persons inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to quickly learn various software programs that aid in work completion.
