The Opportunity:
This position has the responsibility for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and administration of the organization's SQL Server Infrastructure (2016 and later). This includes supporting MS Windows failover clustering and SQL Server HA solutions. The person in this position will work closely with members of the IT staff to ensure very high levels of SQL database availability.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing database structures.
- Establishing backup and recovery procedures.
- Creating users and assigning privileges.
- Performance monitoring and tuning.
- Capacity planning and monitoring.
- Implementing replication and backup strategies.
- Ensuring data security and integrity.
- Creating and maintaining documentation.
- Setting up and maintaining SQL HA solutions.
- Troubleshooting SQL Issues.
- Automation and Scripting.
- On-Call 24/7 rotation for emergencies or operational assistance.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related technical disciplines.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of SQL server related experience.
- In-depth working knowledge of Windows Failover clustering and SQL Server HA solutions.
- Effective written & verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills to work in a team environment, establishing & maintaining good working relations with others, to support team & company objectives, and a willingness to work in all operation areas.
- Strong dedication to quality customer service and superior telephone etiquette with the ability to deal effectively with customers, vendors, peers and management.
- Candidate must exhibit a sense of urgency, individual responsibility, and a willingness to accept constantly changing priorities.
- Good Communication skills both written and oral. Candidate must be able to articulate complex database concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that everyone understands the implications of data-related decisions.
- possess sharp analytical thinking to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
- the ability to interpret and analyze data trends, and the foresight to prevent potential problems before they arise.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong collaboration skills with team and cross-functional teams.

- Strong understanding of IT service management change/incident/problem.
- Ansible, LiteSpeed, Foglight, ITIL, ServiceNow, Advanced SQL Clustering, SQL 2022 performance diagnostics & tuning, Agentic AI.
- Other database types (Oracle, MySQL, Couchbase, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS RDS/NoSQL) a plus.
- Proficient with PowerShell
