Hiring Range: $74,443.20 – $93,038.40 Per Year

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking an experienced Special Education Programming Supervisor to join our Madrona Day Treatment program. In this role, you will provide administrative oversight for special education programming, curriculum development, and IEP compliance. You will support and guide special education teachers and ensure that students receive high-quality, individualized educational services. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement special education programs and policies to support student learning.
  • Provide curriculum support and consultation to special education teachers and staff in the Madrona Day Treatment program.
  • Coordinate with external service providers to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations and laws.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of special education programming, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies for success.
  • Collaborate with educators and parents to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Offer professional development and training opportunities to staff focused on special education and best practices.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student outcomes.
  • Monitor student progress, collect data, and report on program effectiveness to support informed decision-making.
  • Stay up to date on emerging trends, best practices, and regulations in the field of special education.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Services, or a related field. 

EXPERIENCE: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience) in Special Education Field.

This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Administration, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE: Experience working with special education programming or intensive day treatment. Experience in monitoring compliance with IEPs, data collection and reporting, progress monitoring, and curriculum development.  Administrative and program development experience.

  • Familiarity with special education assessment tools and techniques.

 

 

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Driving is required for this role.

 

Work Environment: Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods. This is not a remote position and on-site presence with the team will be required.
