Hiring Range: $29.58 - $36.97 per hour
$3,000 sign-on bonus*

General Summary of Duties: The Family Therapist provides evidence based clinical treatment to caregivers with children in behavioral health services. Purpose of treatment is to focus on caregiver wellness in an effort in impact the wellness of their child.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Major Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Engage family caregivers in active and focused problem solving approaches related to family caregiving to improve quality of care, reduce burden and improve family functioning.
- Provide direct services such as evidence based practices for individual therapy, group therapy, family counseling, crisis intervention, and case management to assigned clients.
- Assume primary responsibility for developing, writing, implementing, evaluating, and revising overall treatment goals and plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Assume primary responsibility for treatment coordination of assigned clients. Link clients with appropriate community resources to assist in problem resolution and enhance independent functioning outside the mental health system.
- Comfortable and proficient with de-escalation skills to remain calm and helpful to individuals who may be distressed, angry, or experiencing a mental health crisis. Routinely monitor and evaluate stability of client and family unit and access appropriate services when stability is threatened.
- Document all clinical services thoroughly and accurately and submit all documentation on time per agency policy and contractual/WAC requirements. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the electronic medical record system.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively as a team member. Assist in building positive working relationships with staff of all agency departments. Represent KMHS with professionalism in the community when engaging with community partners.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current community mental health trends, including health care reform, current assessment, treatment approaches for clients with co-occurring disorders, and behavioral health medications.
- Demonstrated ability to be provide equitable and culturally responsive treatment to a diverse population of individuals and families with qualifying behavioral health diagnosis.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field.
EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)
This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation. This position is not a work from home position and requires the ability to work in an office setting and provide outreach as needed to meet client needs.
LICENSURE: Active License in a Mental Health profession in Washington State.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Intermediate (minimum 3 years of job-related experience). Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist preferred.
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment: Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods.
Mental/Physical Requirements: While performing the job duties, the employee must walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk, or listen. Peripheral vision is also required for this position.
