In this crucial role, you will provide 24/7 therapeutic psychosocial care for adults admitted to the 24-hour Crisis Triage Facility (CTF). As a critical team member, you will work closely with staff, referral parties, and other internal KMHS departments, contributing to the clinical direction of the CTF.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete intake interviews and documentation with newly admitted clients promptly, establishing cooperative relationships with collateral contacts for effective Crisis Stabilization Plans.
- Develop individualized Crisis Stabilization Plans, incorporating relevant data from prescriber histories and nursing plans of care.
- Collaborate with the CTF Program Manager, RN, Supervisors, Physicians, and Designated Crisis Responders for cohesive crisis intervention and assessing the need for a higher level of care.
- Act as an advocate for the psychiatric and social needs of clients, providing consultation to physicians/ARNPs in the development of treatment plans.
- Provide short-term individual, group, and family therapeutic services to expedite discharge planning and reduce the need for readmission.
- Develop discharge instructions with Recovery Case Managers and Certified Peer Counselors, including arranging and documenting follow-up appointments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to meet regulatory, agency, and funding source requirements.
- Routinely assess client and staff safety, taking effective corrective action as needed.
- Observe the effect of current policies, informing supervisors of deficiencies, and suggesting special projects for improvement.
- Participate in Quality Improvement activities, committees, and special task forces as requested.
- Disclose limited client information as necessary, adhering to HIPAA privacy and security standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field or must meet waiver criteria of RCW 71.24.260.
EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)
Two years of postgraduate, documented, supervised clinical experience with the chronically mentally ill, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse, substance related disorders, and emotionally disturbed clients.
LICENSURE: Must meet and maintain the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in RCW 71.05.020.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, vocational services, substance abuse treatment, and experience in therapeutic residential treatment setting.
Experience with the theory and practice of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and co-occurring substance use disorders
