Hiring Range: $29.58 – $36.97 per hour

Kitsap Mental Health Services is seeking a dedicated Jail Diversion Therapist/Case Manager to improve inmates' access to mental health and substance use disorder services during and after incarceration. In this role, you’ll help clients achieve stability, reduce their risk of re-offending, and support their successful reintegration into the community. Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct intakes with inmates eligible for KMHS services, documenting mental health and substance use treatment needs.
- Facilitate access to KMHS services pre- and post-release, coordinating charts, scheduling initial appointments, and addressing barriers to treatment.
- Engage inmates into treatment through outreach, either while they’re in custody or post-release, ensuring they receive timely support.
- Coordinate with defense counsel, probation officers, and corrections staff to advocate for client needs and reduce stigma associated with mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Provide clinical information to KMHS outpatient treatment teams and other community providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Support clients mandated to attend co-occurring treatment, facilitating their admission into the appropriate programs.
- Collaborate with KMHS housing staff and other providers to assist unhoused inmates in accessing transitional housing post-release.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions, including pre- and post-release activities, for reporting and treatment continuity.
- Address logistical and administrative barriers to service delivery in collaboration with jail administration and KMHS leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health.
EXPERIENCE: Experienced (five years of direct client care under the supervision of a master’s level mental health professional with an active license).
LICENSURE: Certified Agency Affiliated Counselor (must be eligible for this license upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Master’s degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health.
EXPERIENCE: Experience in mental health treatment, co-occurring disorders treatment, vocational services, or substance abuse treatment.
