Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Co-Occurring Disorders Specialist to join our PACT team. Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide treatment coordination services for an assigned group of clients.
- Collaboratively develop, write, implement, evaluate, and revise overall treatment goals and plans with the client and the Individual Treatment Team (ITT).
- Utilize Cognitive Behavioral approaches, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care approaches, and stage-wise treatment strategies.
- Intervene and motivate clients for change while providing comprehensive case management services.
- Educate and support clients' families and advocate for clients' rights and preferences.
- Consult with families and community agencies to maintain coordination in the treatment process.
- Participate in PACT Comprehensive Assessment process for assigned clients.
- Document client progress promptly according to established policies and procedures.
- Support clients in reducing or abstaining from substance use and teach replacement behaviors.
- Provide psychiatric rehabilitation services and assist clients in building skills for independent living.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field.
EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)
This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must meet agency driving requirements, including meeting the minimum age requirement of 21 years old, successfully completing a motor vehicle history check, possessing and maintaining a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and having reliable, insured transportation.
LICENSURE: Current licensure as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) in WA State.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)
Experience working with clients with chronic mental illness in a community mental health setting.
