General Duties:
- Troubleshoot and repair production line equipment.
- Inspect, maintain repair and overhaul electromechanical and solid-state electrical equipment, using a variety of electrical test equipment, meters, powered and non-powered tools and equipment.
- Provides maintenance services ensuring that all equipment is in good repair and in a safe operating condition
- Install new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according to the National Electrical Code and company electrical standards.
- Maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems for Project facilities and production equipment.
- Perform high voltage switching and operate generators in support of operations.
- Determine the existence of electrical hazards and problems. Safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits and electrical apparatus to enable repairs.
- Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, generators, high voltage switchgear, protective relaying, and related equipment.
- Read/interpret engineering drawings and manuals to install, calibrate and maintain electrical apparatus. Work from complex engineering and manufacturers drawings or manuals to complete projects and assigned work.
- Install electrical conduit, pull and terminate wiring.
- Install and maintain control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.
- Install and maintain drive systems such as variable frequency drives, eddy current, and DC drives. Install and maintain programmable logic control systems (PLC). Interpret and/or modify PLC control logic as necessary. Install and calibrate pressure, temperature, flow, and level controls.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment, including electronic controls, meters, outlets, and panels.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining scheduled maintenance programs for plant equipment. Maintain records, update drawings, and develop safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned in support of the plant Maintenance departments.
Job Qualifications:
- Industrial / commercial electrical background with high-speed production line experience.
- Must have working knowledge of all areas of maintenance and advanced mechanical ability.
- Must have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, layout, install & maintain a wide variety of new and existing electrical equipment and processes troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing & electrical controls
- Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures and conditions.
- Must have good working knowledge of Program Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Must be able to provide the required tools at personal expense.
- Must be able to use multi meter accurately and safely.
- 3-5 years of experience in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of production line equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, including high-voltage switchgear, protective relaying, grounding procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, safety procedures, and electrical test equipment.
- Ability to work unscheduled hours during emergency and/or unusual situations (24 hour/ 7 days week when needed).
- Knowledge of computer software/hardware with programming basics highly desirable.
