Hog Contract Manager

 

 

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Hog Procurement Manager for JBS USA out of a remote office and/or one of our Pork plant locations. The primary responsibility of this role is to create, amend, optimize, and track contracts with suppliers for packing plants in the Eastern Region of the U.S.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with buyers and producers to gather information to draft and amend contracts
  • Communicate with Legal Counsel on internal and external contract issues and negotiations
  • Update Commodity Procurement System (CPS) with new requirements and activated contracts
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, clients and suppliers
  • Monitor and assist with the employer's compliance with mandatory standards including Packers & Stockyards Act
  • Develop, track, and report monthly KPI’s such as cost savings, contract renewals, etc.
  • Assist the Western Region Contract Manager as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Ag Business or Economics, or related fields preferred
  • 5-10 years of hog industry experience required
  • Must be professional and comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization
  • Able to manage priorities, deadlines and schedules in an efficient manor
  • Ability to communicate, including excellent written & verbal and listening skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (spreadsheets, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions independently
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively negotiate contracts with suppliers
  • 10% travel to supplier groups and plant locations
  • Previous experience in procurement, livestock production, or supply chain management
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $85,000-102,000 and
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;

This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account various factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiencies for the role.
