Job Tasks:
- Area set up at the beginning of shift including pay yield grade computer
- Proceed to calibrate the camera using dummy picture (Picture especially designed for calibration) in preparation for operation
- Be able to identify USDA yield grades and carcass defects
- Once production starts, during the steer run, scan the carcass ID tags with one hand from the carcass hanging on the moving power chain.
- Once you have scanned the carcass ID, with both hands you now take a picture of the rib eye muscle of the same carcass you just scanned with the camera hanging on the balancer. It is imperative you scan and take a picture of the same carcass for sequential track ability purposes
- During the cow run, you scan the carcass ID Tags with one hand, with the other using a paint brush you will paint the vertebral column approved graders blue ink.

- It is required that from time to time you help rehang carcasses that have fallen on the floor.
- Ensure sequence numbers on carcasses is essential to ensuring proper payment is made to the producer.
- Must learn and know all USDA and carcass segregation products.
- Learn about proper ribbing techniques for grading camera and USDA presentation.
- Coverage in other positions as needed.
Requirements:
- Computer proficiency
- Strong communication skills verbal and written
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to work in cold environment
- Able to work fulltime M-S, as needed
