Dry Storage Associate

 

           Status: Full-Time (12pm-8:30pm)      Shift:2nd Shift                 Wage: $22.60 plus $1.00 differential
 
 
PRINCIPAL ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES 

Verify and Maintain supplies in storage by receiving shipments and tracking supplies transferred to operations to be used in production of Sunnyvalley Smoked Meats items.
 
 
  • Have knowledge of bacon, ham, pork or turkey parts produced including product codes, manufacturing supplies used, specifications, etc.
  • Monitor supply inventories and notify management of any foreseen issues.
  • Ability to use Aspen Canopy reports ensuring adequate levels of supplies are kept on hand.
  • Work with Landsberg off-site storage inventory reports and verify daily transfer needs to Sunnyvalley.
  • Review daily production work lists and Product demand reports to verify supplies needed for production.
  • Unload shipments verifying that contents are correct and undamaged. Verify received shipments against open purchase orders for completeness.  
  • Follow all quality control procedures and verify that employees are following procedures as well. (HACCP, GMP’s, CCP’s, SQF, Safety, etc.) 
  • Work with Management to ensure that ALL orders received are documented correctly, and paperwork is turned into office personnel for processing. Any shorted orders must be communicated to Management before turning in paperwork to office. 
  • Routinely inspect storage areas and/or trailers to ensure proper storage of supplies. Notify Maintenance Department and/or Management immediately of any issues observed (locks not working correctly, evidence of rodents, etc.). 
  • Verify proper working condition of equipment in the department. Notify Maintenance Department or Management immediately if any equipment is broken, unsafe and/or working improperly. 
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Prior experience working with supplies and/or a Shipping/Receiving department in a production environment
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office a plus 
  • Must be able to learn SAP/Shop Floor computer software and scan gun usage 
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish (written and verbal) 
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds. 
  • Detail oriented, ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment. Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions. 
  • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks. 
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when production schedule/inventory requires it
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Strong sense of time organization and urgency
  • Safety training for all equipment in the department.
  • Forklift Certification and Electric Pallet Jack training are required.
