Job Summary:

Envestnet is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join the Wealth and Banking Product team. As a Senior Data Analyst on this team, you will work with clients, sales, operations, engineering, and product teams across Envestnet to ensure data is accurately published on the data platform for analytical consumption. You will partner with a dedicated team of Product Owners across the enterprise, money manager, RIA and banking domains to architect, build and maintain efficient and reliable data products with tools like SQL, dbt, Airflow, GitHub, Jenkins, Snowflake, PowerBI and React. In addition, this team establishes and promotes data standards and best practices across data producers, leading efforts to make data an integral part of Envestnet’s data products. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Become an expert in Envestnet’s data and business practices.
  • Build and maintain efficient and reliable data products (dbt, Airflow, Snowflake) to power our three product pillars of data, analytics and experiences for our clients and customers.
  • Collaborate with sales, clients, and internal partner teams to advise on and build optimal data models for their use cases.
  • Serve as a data steward and subject-matter expert for a dedicated set of data and business domains.
  • Influence strategy and drive execution of our roadmap delivering data products and analytics at scale.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to other data analysts to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and a high bar for quality.
  • Pull, organize, and analyze relevant data from multiple sources, using tools such as SQL, dbt and PowerBI.
  • Design, architect, and develop data solutions that help product and business teams make data-driven decisions.
  • Influence data strategies and overall roadmap for building efficient data solutions and scalable data models.
  • Deliver analytical, survey or research results to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Document data requirements with partners by collaborating with data analytics team members on iterations and changes to core solutions.
  • Capture business requirements for analytics and translate complex ones into functional and technical requirements. Collaborate with data engineers to design and implement end-to-end solutions.
  • Analyze data, perform source to target mapping to business needs, identify discrepancies in data, transform and summarize data to build visualizations.
  • Maintain existing dashboards and help in production and client support.
  • Collaborate with architects and platform engineering teams to optimize queries for performance and efficiency.
  • Work with sales and business clients to demo products and train them to use them.
  • Lead the efforts of refactoring of existing ETL and visualizations in legacy tools and systems to new platform.
  • Ensure data provided in reports, extracts and dashboards are highly accurate and reliable for critical reporting and decision making.
  • Document reports implementation, issues, and business logic. Create end user documentation.
  • Assist new users and business partners with onboarding and troubleshooting.
  • Mentor and help junior resources on best practices, code reviews and deployment processes.
  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a data analyst, engineer, or scientist.
  • 5+ years of advanced SQL skills with experience using data warehouses (AWS and Snowflake preferred).
  • 3+ years of data modeling and ETL/ELT (Pyspark / dbt preferred) Data pipeline development a plus.
  • Experience building dashboards and data storytelling in a modern BI tool (Looker, PowerBI, Qlik, etc.)
  • Confidence applying software engineering principals (testing, version control, code reviews, DevOps, CI/CD, etc.) to the analytical development workflow.
  • Excellent communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • 5+ years of experience in a strategic analytics development role.
  • 5+ years managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data using SQL.
  • Advanced understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
  • Experience navigating a fast-paced, dynamic working environment.
  • Experience communicating technical results to technical and non-technical audiences across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience with measurement strategies, analytics, change management, design-thinking, program and project management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with strong business judgement and an ability to present analysis in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Bias for action mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to solve ambiguous problems autonomously
  • Quick learner both in terms of new technical skills and acquiring data domain knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse, relational and columnar databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience integrating, analyzing, and applying business rules to financial data. Examples include wealth management, custodial, insurance and annuities, banking, third party and exchange data.

The annual base salary range for this position is $78,000 to $180,000.
