Job Summary:

The Principal Director, Finance Shared Services oversees the accuracy of Envestnet's accounting and associated reporting for the organization. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing the financial activities of Envestnet's Shared Service functions to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This role helps to establish strategies to oversee and optimize the accounting operations, analyze financial data, produce accurate reporting, and improve or change current practices to increase efficiency. The Principal Director manages a team of Directors and associates to achieve these results. This role reports directly to the Head of Financial Shared Services

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving the monthly general ledger close process and any related activities to ensure accounts are accurately reflected, reconciled, reported and in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Provides accounting GAAP guidance and support to all company entities. At times, this may include involvement in due diligence and other activities surrounding acquisitions/dispositions.
  • Ensures that company financial records, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP.
  • Responsible for execution of operational controls, control testing for Sarbanes Oxley
  • Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records.
  • Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings.
  • Ensures that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities, noted above. Responsible for continued development of these associates.
  • Expected to manage the accounting department towards efficient and value-added processes, and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Accounting
    • CPA
    • Public Accounting (Big Four or large Regional firm)
    • 12-15 years of experience (an accelerated career preferred)
    • Clear path of stable progressive growth
    • Strong desire for success in a fast moving organization
    • Large ERP system experience (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
    • Experience working in a multi-billion dollar organization
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
  • Uses deep understanding of work flows to improve processes and procedures
  • Candidate should be energetic, detail-oriented, self-motivated, be able to work within tight deadlines, and be able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to determine scope, resources needed, timeline, deliverables and end results for any project individual is responsible for delivering.
  • Meticulous attention to detail while maintaining big picture
  • Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Ability to negotiate win/win outcomes when interacting with various groups with competing priorities

Salary:

The annual base salary range for this position is $132,000 to $198,000.
