Job Summary:  

Application Engineering Support (AES) is responsible for a range of critical tasks aimed at ensuring smooth and efficient functioning and high availability of Envestnet’s Unified Wealth Management Platform, which encompasses modules such as accounting, model management, trading, billing, financial planning, performance computations, investment research, and reporting.      

      

We are looking for a talented database professional with focus on MySQL and a strong desire to learn complex system and new technologies. As part of the Envestnet AES team, you will be responsible for Redi2 platform support, which focus on the billing functionality. You will collaborate with our SRE teams for maintaining the overall health, performance, and reliability of the platform. You will solve complex requests, be a key player in continually improving our applications, work well in a rapidly growing and changing engineering workplace.   

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams including Implementations, Product Management, Engineering, Relationship Management, and QA.
  • Manage communication through various channels such as calls and emails, logging and tracking tickets using Jira.
  • Independently troubleshoot, solve, or escalate application issues, ensuring timely resolution and effective management of requestor expectations.
  • Manage requestor expectations by understanding their needs, assessing feasibility, and delivering timely solutions.
  • Follow-up regularly with various parties involved to understand the status of tickets and provide updates.
  • Develop expertise in software products by being hands-on and learning the database structure to handle incoming tickets effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals of diverse technical/business understanding, adapting communication style based on the targeted audience.
  • Attend and actively participate in product training to stay up to date on the latest developments.
  • Document troubleshooting and problem resolution steps in Confluence.
  • Participate in on call rotation, including some weekend support and hand-off of issues between onsite and offshore.
  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.
 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields or relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing SQL Queries and data analysis preferably in MySQL.
  • Strong hands-on skills and the ability to drill deep into the complex system design and implementation.
  • Experience working in Jira, Confluence, and New Relic or other APM tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 1+ years of experience working in private or public cloud is a plus.
