The Envestnet Communications Team creates and implements the most effective communication strategies and tactics that drive Envestnet’s strategy and align its vision and purpose. We create high quality and high impact communications that engage our clients and various constituents and enhance Envestnet’s culture and brand.


As the Executive Communications Director, you will be a creative storyteller and results-driven communicator. You will help architect our external and internal content strategy for executive leadership. You’ll be at the forefront of shaping, recommending, designing, and implementing communications on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of Envestnet, as well as other C-Suite individuals and Envestnet spokespeople, to articulate Envestnet’s financial wellness vision both internally and externally. This is a position that requires an eagle eye for proofreading, an executive presence and, sometimes, a rapid turnaround.

  • Develop communications material such as, event briefings, remarks, talking points, backgrounders, blogs, video scripts, and media prep to support the Chief Executive Officer. This also includes researching and sourcing material for the aforementioned deliverables.
  • Develop programs and campaigns to amplify the CEO’s voice to internal audiences.
  • Partner with marketing leadership team on proactive strategies to bolster public profile and visibility of CEO and other C-Suite individuals.
  • Actively partner with Public Relations and Investor Relations teams to ensure external messaging is aligned with Envestnet’s strategy, vision and purpose.
  • In partnership with the Internal Communications team, plan and produce content for internal Quarterly All Hands meetings. This involves setting the agenda, writing, editing, hiring freelancers as needed, proofreading, and working cross-functionally with relevant internal company stakeholders on content development.
  • Curate and monitor the CEO’s social media presence, including LinkedIn account, Twitter handle, company blog, and other social profiles. Extend to other C-Suite individuals and spokespeople.
  • Edit and improve upon work produced by other employees while ensuring it aligns with the organization’s strategic communication goals and maintains the CEO’s natural voice.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales and marketing teams to ensure go-to-market content and campaign messaging is aligned with Envestnet’s strategy, vision, and purpose.
  • Anticipate reputational risk issues and develop and implement appropriate communication actions.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in English, journalism or communications.
  • A minimum of seven (10) years professional writing and editing experience with clips demonstrating versatility.
  • Must have experience working in a professional editorial environment or a demonstrated record of producing high-quality editorial content.
  • Must have excellent writing and editing skills and an understanding of journalistic reporting standards, including Associated Press style.
  • Ability to turn around copy quickly, revise, and vet with key partners.
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding working environment.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple time-sensitive projects under tight deadlines.
  • Able to perform at a high level, even when faced with unexpected change; creative problem solver in dealing with ambiguity or difficult challenges.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Results oriented: demonstrating intellect and a strong work ethic.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates with experience producing internal communications for an organization are preferred.
  • Experience producing material for both print and online publications, as well as video and podcast formats, is preferred.
