Position Title: Laborer

Location: Whiting, WI

Description:

Our Laborer supports Mativ’s Sustainable and Adhesive Solutions (SAS) team for Neenah Inc., a Mativ company (“Mativ”).  This individual will support to multiple departments by performing tasks such as assisting and/or operating paper mill equipment, including a variety of material handling equipment and tools. The mill is a 24/7 operations so candidates must be willing and able to work rotating shifts including nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays.

A combination of experience in the following areas is desirable:

  • Demonstrate personal safety awareness and promote a safe work environment
  • Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Solid computer skills
  • Operate high speed equipment after an initial training period
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team or self-directed work environment
  • Paper machine, converting, or other process related experience preferred but not required

 

qualifications:

Required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be available to work rotating shifts that include weekends, holidays and overtime as necessary.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical capabilities test, pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, and a background check.

 

Preferred

  • A two-year technical degree a plus

Position Demands

Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment:

  • Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot.
  • Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors.
  • May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards.

Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including:

  • Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
  • Safety Glasses
  • Hearing Protection
  • Protective Gloves, when performing certain tasks
  • Bump Caps, when necessary
  • Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks.

While performing the duties of this job the employee must meet the physical demands:

          Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

          Be able to push up to 108 pounds or pull heavy objects up to 60 pounds.

          Be able to work 8-, 12-, or 16-hour shift.

          Perform repetitive tasks.

          Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk.

          Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in awkward or tight spaces.

          Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

          Meet Mativ certification requirements to operate powered industrial trucks.

The hourly rate for this position is $26.82 per hour.
