Slitter Operator - Third Shift

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Slitting Team. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable individual who is willing and eager to jump in and learn our processes. As a Slitting Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining slitting machines to produce high-quality materials according to customer specifications. Description 

The Slitter Operator is responsible for all aspects of the operation on the slitter used for converting jumbo rolls of adhesive product into smaller rolls.  Operation generally involves the loading of a jumbo roll onto unwind, adjusting machine components for the specific product, slitting and rewinding continuous strips of adhesive product onto cores.  The role includes inspection of the web while slitting and manual cutting of finished sets.  

This position is Monday-Friday 6pm - 6am
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Obtains work orders from the supervisor as required
  2. Responsible for the timely production of quality products in accordance with established standards.
  3. Ensures that all aspects of the operation perform in accordance with ISO Procedures.
  4. Acquires material specified in the work order BOM
  5. Loading of jumbo onto the unwind
  6. General set up of the specified equipment to the specified product being manufactured
  7. Prior to start up performs required safety checks and inspection
  8. Documents all required information of the work following established inventory procedures and oversees proper documentation for the work cell
  9. Removes/provides required quality samples for submission to QA Dept
  10. Alerts shift supervisor to any quality issue or machine malfunction
  11. Required to efficiently produce all types of adhesive products
  12. Inspects finished product for defects and sets aside scrap
  13. Performs minor maintenance duties and repairs as required
  14. Responsible for cell housekeeping and assists with general department housekeeping as required
  15. Promotes teamwork. Organizes the work station to maximize efficiency
  16. Flexibility to support other roles and other duties, as assigned.

  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to lift cartons and product on a continual basis
  • Working knowledge of ERP Systems
  • Good eyesight to identify product defects while packing
  • Ability to use and understand basic math
  • Computer aptitude

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Work is performed indoors in a manufacturing setting with regular exposure to cold, heat, noise, and moving machines/equipment. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Hearing protection, safety glasses, goggles, or shields, cut gloves). This position requires the use of a respirator.
