POSITION: Communications Specialist II

We seek a Communications Specialist II for Mativ’s Internal Communications & Engagement team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Engagement & Communications, the Communications Specialist II will partner across corporate functions, including HR, IT, and Operations, to develop and execute strategic corporate communications plans. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in a communications role, with a proven ability to craft clear, compelling messages across multiple channels including email, intranet, digital signs, posters, mailers, and leader talking points. This role requires strong writing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to engage diverse audiences.

You should be curious and creative, and be able to work seamlessly with stakeholders, thrive in a dynamic business environment, influence strategic messaging, and recommend the most effective communication vehicles that will resonate with our intended audiences.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and Implement Communication Plans: Design and execute comprehensive communication strategies that align with corporate goals and objectives, ensuring consistency and clarity across all channels.
  • Content Creation: Write, edit, and publish content for various platforms, including intranet posts, email campaigns, digital signage, posters, mailers, and talking points for senior leadership.
  • Channel Management: Oversee internal communication channels, ensuring content is timely, relevant, and effectively reaches target audiences.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information, understand communication needs, and tailor messages to address specific audience segments.
  • Measurement and Analysis: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns. Use analytics to assess impact and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Crisis Communication: Assist in the development of crisis communication plans and help facilitate communication during high-pressure situations, ensuring accurate and timely information dissemination.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all communications reflect the company's brand voice and values, maintaining consistency across all messaging and materials.

 

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in a communications role, with a focus on corporate communications or similar functions.
  • Experience writing content for diverse and global audiences.
  • Experience editing and proofreading in various styles/formats with significant attention to detail.
  • Comfortable developing presentations, with demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
  • Able to work independently; organized, self-starter with strong project management skills
  • Strong executive presence; comfortable working with, advising, and presenting to senior executives.
  • Personable, good-natured, and a team player, willing to help the team as needed.
