Role Overview:
The Health and Safety Inspector is responsible for overseeing and managing prevention and protection activities within the organization. This includes identifying and mitigating workplace hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting a safe work environment. Additionally, the inspector manages fire prevention and extinguishing efforts, conducts safety training, and implements environmental protection measures to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Organize, coordinate, and monitor prevention and protection activities in compliance with the Labour Code and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Conduct regular on-site inspections of offices, common areas, and technical.
- Organize together with the Occupational Health&Safety Service Provider and deliver safety trainings (introductory, periodic, on-the-job) in line with Ordinance No. RD-07-2/2009.
- Prepare and update evacuation and fire safety plans together with the fire safety service providers; ensure their visibility and staff awareness.
- Organize trainings and evacuation drills for employees.
- Monitor fire detection and alarm systems, hydrants, extinguishers and emergency signage.
- Inspect hydrants and fire extinguishers; ensure periodic checks and annual renewals are carried out in time.
- Ensure compliance with the Law on Fire Safety and Civil Protection.
- Maintain all company First Aid Kits, including timely replacement of expired medication and consumables (as per Ordinance No. 3/1987).
- Ensure compliance with Labour Code Art. 287 and Ordinance No. 3/1987 regarding mandatory medical examinations.
- Organize and track periodic measurements of air quality, humidity, and workplace conditions, together with the occupational health service.
- Carry out joint inspections with providers to confirm proper execution.
What Makes You a Strong Candidate:
- Мinimum 1 year of experience in a similar position.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken).
- PC literacy.
- Relevant higher education degree.
- Knowledge of Bulgarian regulations: Labour Code, Health and Safety at Work Act, Law on Fire Safety and Civil Protection, Ordinance No. RD-07-2/2009, Ordinance No. 3/1987, Ordinance No. 3/2004.
