Salary Range: $20- $23 / hour

Our 6-doctor small animal and exotics practice is looking for a full time experienced veterinary assistant to join our team. Our hospital has fostered a culture and brisk pace that combines uncompromising animal care with fun and hard work. As a Veterinary Assistant, your duties would include:
• Providing exceptional client service and patient care while assisting veterinarians during outpatient exams.
• Taking notes from doctors during examinations and electronically recording key diagnostic information into our proprietary computer system
• Holding or safely restraining pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation
• Basic nursing skills such as taking vital signs, administering injections, nail trims and anal gland expression. Venipuncture skills a plus, but willing to train the right candidate.
• Preparing patients, medications, and equipment for pet examination
• Specimen preparation for in-house and reference laboratory samples.
• Recommending products that would benefit the health of the pet, processing payments for services and scheduling appointments.
 
Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of two years’ experience as a veterinary assistant in an animal care facility. Exceptional communication and dependability are qualities that we consider to be of extremely high value. Must be able to type 45 wpm and lift up to 40lbs.
*We are open Mon-Fri, 7am-6pm, Sat 8-4. A typical work week consists of five, 8-hour shifts which include rotating Saturdays.*

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $20- $23 hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
