- Inculcate best practices within the team with regards to design, coding standards, testing and automation to constantly improve on developer productivity.
- Ensure quality standards of the deliverables with regards to user experience, scale, resiliency, and reliability
- Participate in project planning with Engineering and Program Managers to set aggressive but achievable milestones and goals.
- Discuss requirements with Product team and elicit responses for Non Functional Requirements
- Participate in product roadmap discussions and customer interaction.
- Write white-papers and blogs, file patents, represent Nutanix in external seminars.
- 8–10 years of hands-on software development experience in C/C++ and/or Python, Golang on Linux platforms.
- Strong understanding of the Linux networking stack: sockets, netfilter, routing subsystem, namespaces, cgroups.
- Expertise with iptables, nftables, and firewall rules management.
- Deep understanding of iproute2, network namespaces, VRFs, bridging, bonding, and VLAN configurations.
- Solid knowledge of packet flow, NAT, conntrack, and kernel-level networking concepts.
- Knowledge of SDN frameworks (Open vSwitch, OpenFlow, OVN).
- Strong analytical and debugging skills in complex distributed network environments.
- Ability to Debug complex network issues at L2/L3/L4 layers using tcpdump, Wireshark, ss, netstat, and other diagnostic tools.
- Work with both physical and virtual network interfaces, VLANs, tunnels, bonding, and routing protocols.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (KVM, QEMU, Docker, containers, or hypervisors).
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP, private cloud).
- Familiarity with security frameworks and hardening practices.
- Experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP) or advanced routing techniques.
