The Opportunity: Nutanix pioneered the SDDC revolution by bringing the simplicity and elasticity of the cloud to the on-prem data canter. We're looking for solid engineers who are constantly looking to push the envelope in terms of not only usability and functionality, but also performance and scale. This role will provide you with an opportunity to deeply validate the functionality of features, while also ensuring that the overall solution is rock solid. We have a strong bias for automation in everything we do, so be prepared to code extensively as part of your role.
About the Team
At Nutanix, you'll be joining the Flow System Test QA team. The team you'll be joining is described as awesome to work with, offering a great learning experience for all team members. Collaboration and support are key values within the team. You will be reporting to the Senior Manager for the R&D-Prod Integ - Sys QA team, who is committed to guiding the team and dedicated to helping his team succeed. Our work environment is a hybrid model, with employees coming into the office thrice a week for in-person collaboration and team building. This setup allows for flexibility while still fostering a strong team culture.
Your Role
- Writing and executing detailed system test plans to thoroughly validate features.
- Executing large scale customer deployment scenario tests.
- Automating all aspects of the workflow including test harnesses and frameworks.
- Collaborating with a team of developers, test engineers, and product management.
- Working closely with development engineers to analyze and find the root cause of failures.
- Engage with customer support engineers as well as customers to debug and solve production issues.
What You Will Bring
- Minimum of 5–9 years of Testing experience in a Data Center product company BE or MS in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience in Test Automation in one of the following programming languages: Python/Perl/C/C++/Java (Python preferred).
- Good understanding of networking concepts and protocols such as: TCP/IP, VLAN, BGP, VPN, OSPF, VXLAN, GRE, etc.
- Experience using virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM (KVM preferred).
- Experience with network troubleshooting and traffic generator and tools such as wireshark, tcpdump, git, ixia, ostinato etc.
- Experience with building/testing a scalable networking solution.
- Prior system testing experience of large scale deployments will be a big plus.
- Experience with distributed software systems.
- Hands-on exposure to a public cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc preferred).
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
