Role:

This position is a critical component to the Moberly operation, responsible for ensuring that the Moberly plant has adequate raw material supply from the complex internal supply network to manufacture the appropriate finished goods.  The role will be responsible to ensure the raw materials are consumed FIFO and inventories on hand are aligned with finished goods production schedules.  Finally, the role will be key to ensure that all system inventories are accurate for Moberly bacon slabs, E&P’s, and excess network E&P’s available for sale on the market.

 

Responsibilities:  This position is responsible for the following items, including but not limited to:

  • Monitor/Track bacon slab and E&P’s schedule for bacon network.
  • Align the Moberly slab/E&P’s to S&OP team with gaps identified for 6 weeks forward looking
  • Balance E&P supply from bacon plants to Moberly consumption, inform sales team for E&P’s available for sale on market, with optimizing freight and storage.
  • Daily follow up with all Bacon Plants on existing inventory of bacon slabs and E&P’s available to Moberly for slicing
  • Daily reconciliation in SAP to make sure the system has the latest and correct information
  • Communication with the S&OP process team to make sure Moberly will have the volume to produce
  • Communication with all external and internal warehouses about the quantity in inventory x SAP
  • Communication with corporate finance about the inventory quantity of Slabs and E&P at the end of each period, for monthly inventory reporting
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to move Slabs and E&P between locations to update SAP properly and real time when the truck leaves the location and arrive in the destination
  • Execute the best economical mix to ship E&P due to freight cost and then for slabs
  • Monitor the truck weights shipped from our plants and warehouses to Moberly to make sure we maximize the volume per truck
  • Coordinate any follow-up variances of daily reconciliations of SAP inventory to ensure movements in SAP are completed and accurate with all plants
  • Coordinate the grease sales to vendors to ensure we are adequately moving the right quantities and getting the right quality to maximize revenue between broth and choice white grease.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of SAP, inventory movement transactions, Microsoft Excel
  • Inventory control experience is required
  • Ability to work in extreme temperature environments (cold ~22 oF) for extended periods
  • Experience with product scheduling and inventory management
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but will accept applicable experience

 

Travel:

 

Travel will generally be <10% for this role over the longer term.  Initial travel and visits to supplying plants is necessary to understand the processing capabilities and constraints.
