We are looking for a Senior Commodity Trader for JBS that will report to the Corporate Office in Greeley, Colorado.

The Senior Commodity Trader is responsible for the sales, trading and hedging of assigned commodities with the primary aim to achieve budget; this includes the development, implementation and management of trading strategies within approved policies for the profitable operation of the Business Unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Export Poultry Protein Trading withing the STG business
  • Drive the Sales and Marketing team to achieve budgetary and company targets as set, including profit targets, cash flow return on assets and working capital requirements
  • Develop, in conjunction with other Commercial Managers, sales, trading and operational strategies that are realistic and profitable
  • Develop and implement new markets
  • Manage the hedging program associated with assigned commodities
  • Overall development of the sales process, including the customer base and servicing of existing customers
  • Maintain effective relationships with counterparts such as JBS Rendering, PPC Protein conversion and third party suppliers and customers
  • Account manage designated key customers/destinations as a complete package to ensure that the Company's trading activities exceed the expectations of new and existing buyers and suppliers
  • Work with shipping, logistics, rail, finance and other functions that impact on key accounts and relevant commodities
  • Ensure the set trading strategies are executed
  • Identify growth opportunities though the leverage of existing assets and the identification of new opportunities in conjunction with business development and projects
  • Liaise with the Commercial Manager concerning process issues in the Trading and Administration areas
  • Promote the activities of Trading of commodities on a daily basis
  • Ensure the appropriate protection of the Company's financial interests by conscious and active risk management
  • Maintain a staff development program to ensure the By-Products business has a good spread of suitably experienced members and is developing talented aspirants
  • Monitor performance against budgets on at least a monthly basis, and assess resource allocations required for business needs
  • Establish and promote business unit member communication flows (JBS/STG/PPC) by developing role awareness and ensuring individual objectives are met

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 Years relevant industry experience
  • International Sales and Marketing
  • International Shipping and Logistics
  • Demonstrated success leading a team in a commercial environment
