Description

The Lead Janitor helps with overseeing cleaning practices of the laundry and cafeteria cleaners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean building and office floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them
• Gather and empty trash
• Clean and supply restrooms
• Clean windows and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners; sponges
• Clean furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
• Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies manually
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs
• Communicate shortage of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning duties
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned

• Some janitorial experience is preferred
• Must be reliable and self-motivated
• Must have reliable transportation
• Time management skills is a plus
• Must be able to work independently
