SUMMARY

 

Foreign material manager is responsible for monitoring and documentation of all plant foreign material programs and procedures.  Duties and responsibilities below. 

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.

 

If working 1st shift, conduct pre-operational equipment checks per plant foreign material monitoring procedures to ensure that all equipment is in-tact and acceptable prior to final assembly and use each day.  Includes belt inspections, grinder inspections, paddle blender inspections, formax machine inspections, gasket inspections, VMS inspections, etc. 

 

If working 2nd shift, conduct post-operational equipment checks per plant foreign material monitoring procedures to ensure that all equipment is in-tact and acceptable after disassembly each day.  Includes belt inspections, grinder inspections, paddle blender inspections, formax machine inspections, gasket inspections, VMS inspections, etc. 

 

Complete daily foreign material monitoring check list.  Monitor incoming inspection and rework procedures, marination procedures, grinding/blending/forming procedures, pallet inspection procedures, combo dumping procedures, belt inspection procedures, metal detection procedures, gasket inspection procedures, PPE inspection procedures, FM investigation procedures, etc.  Conduct routine camera audits for compliance to metal detection procedures.    

 

Conduct investigations for any foreign material findings at the facility; raw material findings or in house findings.  Manage and maintain all foreign material investigation reports for incoming materials and in-plant findings.

 

Monitor foreign material management clerk to ensure that all raw material findings are properly documented and communicated to all PPC personnel, and applicable supply plants/USDA inspection program personnel. 

 

Monitor foreign material management supervisor to ensure that all plant foreign material control programs and procedures are properly implemented, monitored, and followed at all times.  Monitor the proper completion of the daily foreign material monitoring check list by the FM supervisor.      

 

Monitor production hourly belt checkers to ensure belt checks are completed properly.  Conduct training for hourly belt checkers to ensure proper completion of all facility belt inspection checks and proper documentation.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Manage night shift foreign material management supervisor to ensure that all plant foreign material control programs and procedures are properly implemented, monitored, and followed at all times.  

 

Manage foreign material management clerk to ensure that all raw material findings are properly documented and communicated to all PPC personnel, and applicable supply plants/USDA inspection program personnel.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have computer skills, experience in working with Microsoft office, excel, email.  Must have extensive knowledge/skills working in production processing environment with general equipment knowledge. 

 

LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS

 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, email correspondence, and memos.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to plant personnel and other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. 

 

REASONING ABILITY

 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

In the event that the partner will not be able to come to work or will be tardy, they will contact their direct supervisor to let them know.  They will call the Operations Manager direct line and let them know and/or leave a message on their machine.
