HATCHERY GENERAL LABORER - QA - Hourly
SUMTER - HATCHERY GENERAL LABORER-QA
This position is responsible for performing various tasks in the hatchery while following all Company Safety and Animal Welfare Policies.
Responsible for making sure that the best quality chicks are being hatched and sent to contract farms.
Responsible for chick counts and rectal temperatures of chicks
Responsible for some vaccine mixing
Responsible for bacterial plating throughout the entire building
Responsible for process control readings and tasks including but not limited to
- Tray Wash Temp Readings
- Khlarion Sanitation Readings
- Hydrogen Peroxide Readings
- Box Counts
- Candling/Breakout Eggs
- Moisture Loss Test
- Embryo Temps
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY MANAGEMENT.
Reading, General Math and Writing Skills. Basic computer skills, Ability to work individually on some things
At least 18 years of age
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Strong work history by having worked for one employer for at least 6 months in the past three years.
Willing and able to stand for several hours.
Must be able to work in a hot, wet, damp, or dusty (chick down) environment.
The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following:
Exposed to temperatures of 60 degrees to 105 degrees and humidity’s up to 100%.
Work in wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment. Exposed to chemicals , drugs and vaccines to be covered in M.S.D.S. training and hazardous communications.
Use P.P.E. as required.
Bending and twisting requiring motions of up to 1080 repetitions reaching and lifting a maximum of 40 lbs.
Requires constant standing and walking.
Be able to push or pull up to 500 lbs.
