Planterra Foods is fully funded Plant-Based Protein start-up in Boulder County, CO. It’s an investment by the JBS Company, the world’s largest protein producer and the second largest food company in the world.

We are seeking a Customer Service Specialist who will be based in our Lafayette, CO office. This role may choose to work from our Denver (Commerce City) Production facility as well.

The Specialist will process daily customer orders and will coordinate order processing with production, warehouse, transportation, sales and customers. They will ensure that each order is delivered on time, in full and invoiced correctly. They will also be the liaison for our customers and serve a support function to other internal teams. Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday (in office). The Specialist may be part of an on-call weekend/holiday duty rotation if needed in the future.


  • Order entry
  • Liaison between Customers and the Sales Team
  • Sending customers weekly updates and verifying customer requested price matches system price
  • Act as the daily point of contact with customers via telephone and email
  • Handle daily customer issues/complaints such as transportation issues, product questions, invoice adjustments, credit, and billing questions
  • Confirm order acknowledgement in a timely manner
  • Maintain a weekly order/shipping schedule per customer
  • Report customer feedback and all customer complaints to management
  • Acquire familiarity with customer needs
  • Enter credits/deductions/complaints 
  • Reporting, primarily in Excel, for the Sales Team
  • Resolve issues with the appropriate sense of urgency 
  • Develop positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders   


  • Prior experience in customer service strongly preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, include the ability to communicate professionally over the phone and via email
  • Organized, efficient and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Maintain a positive attitude while identifying customer needs and resolving issues
  • General working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook required, SAP knowledge preferred
  • Strong typing skills

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule
  • Base salary range of $39,000-50,000
  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program
