Position at Mopac

We currently have an immediate opening for a Boiler/Energy Maintenance Superintendent in our Souderton, PA Rendering facility. The ideal candidate with work closely with our Maintenance Manager and Staff in regards to Planning, Supervision and administer of our gas/oil fired, steam generating boiler plant operations, utility distribution system, and air quality controls which includes but is not limited to gas/oil fired boilers throughout the complex, emergency generators, anaerobic biogas pumping station, non-condensable & scrubber system controls, boiler control systems, various utility system components and all plumbing associated and repair needs required to maintain the highest efficiencies of MOPAC’s Boiler Plant.
Job Requirements:
• Schedule and supervise union personnel
• Manage and maintain all utility equipment and system records/logs to ensure they are updated and readily accessible
• Prepare all service contracts and reports including but not limited to welding services, chemical treatment and annual boiler PM's/state boiler inspections
• File all required inspection reports and operating permits
• Develop, implement and manage the preventative maintenance program ensuring that all utility systems and associated equipment is properly maintained and in safe operating order
• Provide technical leadership, scheduling and assistance, as needed, in repairs to system equipment to provide minimal downtime to any facility on complex
• Work with the Facilities Management staff to diagnose potential problems and determine upgrades requiring immediate or future funding
• Work with the Environmental Manager to maintain the Pennsylvania DNR requirements and O&M manuals.
• Work with Facilities Management staff to coordinate work that will require assistance from other departmental trades • Purchase and maintain plant material inventory
• Coordinate staff training program
• Perform call out duty on a rotational basis with Facilities Management staff

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and/or progressive knowledge and experience in management/supervision of steam boiler system operations and maintenance
• Knowledge of building systems: mechanical, electrical, plumbing and automated system controls
• Knowledge and comprehension of schematic system drawings
• Knowledge and understanding of building codes and state operational requirements
• Knowledge of construction and renovation processes • Knowledge of purchasing procedures / methods
• Knowledge of building maintenance and construction terminology
• Capability to plan, coordinate, analyze, execute and document specific administrative and management functions
• Proficient computer skills, including MS-Office and database management
• Supervisory experience
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Experience with budget management
• Ability to work independently and/or with a team
• Ability to work on multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
