Job Summary:
As the Head of Custodian (Partnerships or Strategy), you will be responsible for leading the development of the roadmap and strategic initiatives related to Envestnet’s custody offering through core existing and emerging custody partners. Working with business partners, you will help segment custodians and prioritize strategic customer led custody initiatives. Critical insight will help balance resources, revenue and client experience priorities along with managing relationships and integration expectations of existing custodians. Creating the future roadmap for all custody initiatives will accelerate growth from existing partners as well as new and emerging partners. Launching a white label offering through our partnership with FNZ will be a critical success metric.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer to set the strategy for the business surrounding our current Custodian Accounts to optimize Envestnet’s ability to scale.
- Successfully support and advance the launch of the FNZ partnership opportunity – partnering with FNZ and every ENV internal function to deliver a differentiated offering providing choice in the marketplace.
- Manage relationships with major and minor custodians through an evolving landscape and drive long term strategic outcomes
- Source, compile and interpret research and findings that are the key issues driving satisfaction within key Custody accounts.
- Identify new markets while proactively identifying potential opportunities within existing markets/ accounts.
- Collaborate with Key Stakeholders, Operations and Finance to develop and execute on Envestnet’s long term product and growth strategies.
- Research the marketplace to identify trends and new opportunities for growth while analyzing competitor strategies to determine how they are impacting the industry’s dynamics – competitive landscape framework.
- Identify clients impacted by regulatory changes and other issues and communicate as necessary.
- Drive alignment with key internal stakeholders and execute on new strategic initiatives with our critical partners.
- Business decision support with projects and contract negotiations with outside vendors, legal team, and senior management.
- Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
- As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk
Required Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of Custody experience
- Deep knowledge and understanding of custody, fund accounting or financial services business.
- Series 7 and 24 required (63 optional). (Or ability to re-activate or commitment to take/pass within 3 months of hire)
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Business, or related field
- Fintech career experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, business development, business decision support, or related roles
- Have deep familiarity with the industry landscape in banking, fintech, and financial services, with relevant experience leading teams in highly regulated environments
- Sound knowledge of the evolution of the custody business and the impact of digital on this activity
- Ability to assess business/new product opportunities and to develop business cases where appropriate.
- Building and managing critical vendor and partner relationships in Financial Services at the company level, serving as the senior point of contact responsible for delivering on must-have relationships and initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced PowerPoint skills (creating large decks, embedding/linking data and media, creating templates, graphic designs and crisp formatting)
- Experience applying strong analytical and problem‐solving capabilities; including originating ideas, collecting data, establishing facts, performing analysis, drawing conclusions, and presenting a point of view to key stakeholders and executive leadership
- Experience communicating and presenting financial concepts to various audiences in person and via audio and video formats

Salary:
The annual base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $250,000.
