The Tax Manager will support the Tax Director in managing and overseeing all aspects of the company’s tax functions. This role requires a proactive and analytical professional capable of handling a broad range of tax-related duties, including compliance, reporting, and planning for various taxes such as income tax, sales/use tax, GST/PST/VAT, and more. The successful candidate will play a critical role in centralizing tax processes, upgrading tax systems, and contributing to special projects that support the company's growth and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and international tax regulations and filings.
  • Manage and oversee tax matters related to sales/use tax, GST/PST/VAT, property taxes, payroll taxes, and business licenses.
  • Lead and support the centralization of tax processes across various divisions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in system upgrades and enhancements, specifically with OneSource Tax software, to ensure robust tax operation capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary tax-related data and documentation.
  • Support the Tax Director with strategic tax planning and risk management.
  • Handle and coordinate audits conducted by external and internal auditors.
  • Engage in special tax-related projects and provide tax expertise on corporate initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field; Master’s degree preferred, CPA required
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant tax experience in a public accounting firm or a public multinational corporation.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax laws, with some understanding of international tax principles.
  • Proficient with tax software, particularly OneSource, and strong IT skills to support system enhancements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of management and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze payment data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools.
  • Required to undergo and satisfactorily pass a fingerprint background check in accordance with CJIS requirements.
