Description

The Public Safety Instructional Designer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, coordination, and facilitation of training and development programs within the Public Safety division of Tyler Technologies.  They will assist in creating new training materials, Instructor Led Training (ILT), webinars, software demonstration and e-learning content for our clients and employees.
Responsibilities
  • Design and develop eLearning & video training content related to Tyler Technologies Public Safety software applications and/or internal systems for clients and employees.
  • Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including in-person classroom instruction, virtual live online training, webinars and self-directed eLearning.
  • Conduct live remote Tyler University LMS training for clients within implementation
  • Edit and update recorded video content for an internal and/or external audience.
  • Review and provides peer project feedback on eLearning and training videos created by teammates.
  • Own webinar administration & facilitate webinars or virtual training sessions.
  • Facilitate an Enterprise Public Safety full product demonstration to employees
  • Schedule and coordinate classroom and/or virtual training with– schedule locations, date/time, materials, and attendance.
  • Work to ensure that educational content is delivered to meet multiple learning styles for both local and remote staff.
  • Leverage Tyler’s Learning Management System, Tyler University, as a primary tool to deliver, track and manage various educational tracks and individual progress for Tyler staff.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with support, development, implementation and other management teams to identify and coordinate subject matter experts to develop and deliver educational content.
  • Collect, compile and report results of evaluation, attendance and training data for webinars and instructor/virtual led training.
  • Manage and maintain onboarding for new hire and transition employees, assisting with onboarding schedules, first day training activities, product demonstrations, etc.
  • Organize, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs.
  • Prepare reports as assigned.
  • Prepare and conduct initial training for any new processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • B.S./B.A. Degree with at least 2-3 years related experience in a training environment or role.
  • Prior public safety industry experience in Law Enforcement, 911 Dispatch/Communications, Law Enforcement Records, Fire and/or Emergency Medical Technician is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
  • Experience with WellSaid Labs, GoToWebinar and additional virtual training and facilitation tools is preferred.
  • Prior experience with e-Learning content creation and authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate and Camtasia are preferred. 
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) is preferred.
  • Experience with instructional design system models such as ADDIE is a plus.
  • Ability to pivot quickly and take on new tasks assigned, coupled with agility for project priority and deliverables is required.
  • Leadership skills to effectively direct employees while in a training class/virtual environment and ability to properly evaluate comprehension and application of subject material.
  • High level of professionalism, team-oriented leader that fostering good morale and inter-departmental collaboration for staff development.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of employees and clients.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary to produce and deliver quality training programs.
  • High-level of effective interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal plus organization and presentation skills Possess excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced, technical environment.
  • Some travel required and valid driver’s license required.
