MOPAC Director of Transportation

Develop, direct, and ensure the execution of MOPAC’s overall transportation operations including assets, employees, programs, and strategy, including planning and forecasting to support current requirements, future growth, and excellent customer service.

 

Responsibilities: Transportation/Logistics : 3 direct reports

  • Plan and direct all aspects of MOPAC’s inbound and outbound  transportation programs:
  • Develop and execute annual transportation budgets.
  • Ensure company and carrier compliance with all transportation laws and regulations
  • Oversee transportation management programs to ensure service levels are consistently exceeded at the most effective costs
  • Perform periodic review of routing method to maximize proper utilization and reduce transportation costs
  • Maintain an action plan for recruitment, training, mentoring and development that will ensure the highest level of service, productivity, safety, and efficiency.
  • Ensure that appropriately aggressive goals and objectives within transportation are established and achieved by the team and are in alignment with broader organizational goals
  • Recommend optimal transportation modes and routing for all MOPAC traffic.
  • Create Policies and Procedures for logistic activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate business processes.
  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, and carriers.
  • Analyze all aspects of logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products.
  • Develop KPI’s for Logistic Functions.
  • Achieve cost control, cost reduction, and cost containment structures.
  • Provide training to internal associates in relation to logistics.
  • Oversee  Logistic associate development.
  • Manage governmental certifications, applications, registrations and licensing.
  • Oversee Fleet Service Manager covering all aspects of vehicle repairs.
  • Oversee vehicle replacement program including vehicle specifications, CAPEX, and ordering of equipment.

Responsibilities: Customer Service/ Technical Services:  

  • Create a team environment between Transportation & Customer Service and align goals and objectives with broader organizational goals
  • Develop KPI’s for Customer Service Functions.
  • -Ensures that customers and prospective customers are treated with the
    highest levels of courtesy and professionalism.

 

  • -Remain current on new and current products and services, industry and
    competitive trends.
  • Initiate and/or facilitate projects leading to IT enhancements, improvements, and reporting within MOPAC departments and with customers.
