HACCP/FOOD SAFETY QUALITY CONTROL FSQA SUPERINTENDENT
Description
- Expertise in development and management of HACCP, GMP, SSOP, SAFE, SRM Animal Handling and Welfare programs, 3rdparty audit company policies / procedures and government regulations that contribute to Food Safety.
- Organizes and coordinates the activities of the QA/Food Safety team to meet and exceed food safety goals by levering engineering skillsets
- Understand and assist with the NSIS program, as well as the development of SOPs related to it
- Conducts investigations of plant Food Safety processes and ensures process improvements projects and tasks are completed
- Organizes and coordinates the activities of the Food Safety team for implementation of quality and food safety programs (HACCP and SSOP) and procedures
- Manages and mentors the Food Safety team.
- Proactively looks for ways to reduce cost through the elimination of foreign material
- Manage special projects as assigned by QA manager.
- Communicates programs and procedures to FSQA and other plant team members by performing in-class and hands-on training
- Maintains good communication and working relationships with the FSQA team, site Operations team and USDA personnel. Ensuring that all USDA regulations are being followed
- Responsible for responding and closing non-conformities received by the USDA according to regulations and processes already established in the plant.
- Very good relationship and communication with the USDA.
- Facilitates 3rd party or customer audits with the QA Manager.
- Ensures the customer quality programs meet or exceed the customer requirements
- Communicates issues to site management team to ensure the plant is complying with customer specifications
- Complete additional tasks as directed by QA Manager.
- Preferably Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or similar field (Meat Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Food engineer, or related field) or in plant experience
- Extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of QA and production jobs, and in supervisory positions.
- Harvest floor experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully, both written and verbally
- Capable of independent decision making
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Able to quickly and effectively adapt to new and changing situations
- Computer knowledge required
- Good organizational skills
- Good attendance and safety records

Base annual salary range: $75 - $82,500
