TANNERY ENVIRONMENTAL OPERATOR

General Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Operate the tannery's wastewater treatment area safely and efficiently.
• Perform the wastewater treatment process from the leather tanning process.
• Perform the solid decantation process, using chemical products for wastewater treatment.
• Transfer water between tanks and remove solids using a filter press.
• Operate and troubleshoot problems associated with wastewater treatment operations.
• Organize the waste disposal area for the wastewater treatment process.
• Prevent cross-contamination of wastewater.
• Monitor and fill out process control spreadsheets in the wastewater treatment unit.
• Communicate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance needs for equipment.
• Perform equipment calibration when necessary.
• Identify potential environmental problems and report them to the environmental supervisor.

Skills:
•Some mechanical knowledge is required to troubleshoot simple problems.
• The ability to multitask is essential.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is mandatory.
• Good note-taking skills and basic math knowledge are required.
• This position requires supervision, therefore, the operator must be disciplined to stay
focused on tasks and meet performance requirements.

Experience: Experience in wastewater treatment is desirable.
