Category Manager – Italian Meats
Purpose and Scope/General Summary: The Category Manager – Italian Meats is the strategic business owner for the full Italian Meats portfolio across Retail and Foodservice channels. This role carries full P&L ownership, leads category strategy, go‑to‑market execution, product development, and drives both short‑ and long‑term business performance.
This is a highly dynamic, hands‑on leadership role that works deeply and daily with cross‑functional teams — including Sales, Marketing, R&D, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, S&OP, Procurement, and Quality — to deliver growth, margin expansion, and best‑in‑class innovation for the total business.

Responsibilities:
- Own full P&L responsibility for the Italian Meats portfolio, including revenue, margin, pricing, trade spending, and product mix across Retail and Foodservice.
- Build annual strategic plans aligned with defined go‑to‑market guardrails, delivering against timelines, budgets, and KPI expectations.
- Manage pricing strategy for Private Label and Branded products in partnership with the Revenue Management team.
- Work directly with Sales and Supply teams to recommend sales forecasts and SKU allocation that support strategic business growth.
- Support customer‑specific programs by optimizing assortment and analyzing demand and category sales performance.
- Provide Sales with tools, materials, and actionable selling insights needed to achieve commercial objectives.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs across the selling and supply chain to improve profitability.
- Identify and lead product, portfolio, and customer initiatives that drive growth and margin improvement.
- Support account‑specific category insights using a customer‑centric, data‑driven approach.
- Manage new product development and timelines, ensuring alignment with GTM strategies and cross‑functional readiness.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging consumer needs to identify future growth opportunities and adjust strategies as needed to meet business objectives.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree Bachelor’s degree (Marketing / Business / Finance or related field preferred).
- 5+ years’ experience required, CPG preferred.
- Must be comfortable traveling to and working in food production plant environments, including exposure to variable temperatures, humidity, and typical manufacturing hazards.
- Experience in deli meat or premium food categories preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with P&L ownership, financial modeling, pricing, and category analytics.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills, accuracy, attention to details and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with the ability to excel in an agile, collaborative, ambiguous environment.
- Experience working with sales and customer presentations.
- Excellent communication, networking, collaboration, and relationship building.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Effective interpersonal skills to work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- Organized and strong planner.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
- Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
- Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
- 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
- Base salary range of $115,000 - $145,000;
- Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
