The Quality Assurance Manager is accountable for implementing and verifying their facility’s adherence to Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation (PPC) Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) programs. This Manager leads the facilities food safety and quality culture through their supervisors and team, establishing and maintaining quality assurance standards, procedures and controls. This position works directly with corporate and plant management teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage food safety and quality programs to ensure consistent production standards and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement procedures and training aligned with corporate FSQA policies, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Use statistical analysis and budgeting techniques to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction in quality operations.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to resolve customer complaints and maintain strong relationships.
- Oversee audits and inspections from customers, third parties, and regulatory agencies, ensuring readiness and compliance.
- Coach and develop FSQA team members, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and quality excellence.

What You’ll Need:
· Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science or similar field; or five (5) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and training.
· Certifications: GFSI (BRC specifically) training preferred.
· Experience: Supervisory experience required, preferably in poultry processing or slaughter operations. Must have an understanding of USDA and OSHA regulations.
· Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus. Strong communication and leadership skills, both written and verbal. Quick learner of customer quality programs and adaptable to change. Solid math and analytical abilities for problem-solving and decision-making. Reliable and ethical, with a strong work ethic and punctuality. Team-oriented and self-motivated, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
Candidate Expectations:
· Travel up to 10% annually, with occasional overnight stays (1–4 days per trip).
· Flexible schedule required, including some weekends and varying shifts to meet deadlines.
· Works independently while upholding company values and supporting FSQA programs.
· Maintains a positive, collaborative work environment through effective communication and teamwork.
· Comfortable navigating production areas and equipment safely and efficiently.
· Proactively identifies and addresses safety and food safety risks, promoting safe practices throughout the facility.
