ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
 
1.       Prepare monthly report of results, monthly forecasts, annual operating plan, and strategic planning.
2.       Responsible for internal controls at the plant for operations, sales and finance.
3.       Analyze and accurately report current month’s financial results to the plant, sales, and corporate management in accordance with corporate format and time requirements.
4.       Submit all financial transactions, transmissions, and reporting on a timely and accurate basis.
5.       Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments.
6.       Perform audits of bills of materials =to ensure product cost are accurate and accounted for properly.  Report audit results monthly.
7.       Ensure timely and accurate input of bill of material and price code changes.
8.       Ensure bill of material and costing accurately reflect production operations.
9.       Maintain a perpetual inventory for finished goods and reconcile this perpetual to production, shipping, and returns daily.
10.    Attend daily plant production meetings.
11.    Perform daily walkthroughs of the plant with the Production Manager to discuss production and costing issues.  Review labor reporting and cost, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, returns and inventory levels.
12.    Conduct formal meetings with manufacturing, finance and sales management personnel to discuss all plant issues.  Develop and publish a formal agenda and recap with actions to be taken.
13.    Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly.
14.    Reconcile all inter-company accounts monthly.
15.    Analyze internal controls to ensure assets are adequately safeguarded and results are accurately reported.
16.    Assure adherence to general accepted accounting policies.  Resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls with corporate financial management.
17.    Assist in the completion of special projects.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration.
5-10 years as plant controller or cost manager in a manufacturing environment, managing a staff, with an emphasis on cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis.
High level of proficiency of PC spreadsheets and ERP/MRP systems.
Ability to speak, read, and write English
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to use various databases and applications independently
Ability to comprehend the implications of process, policies and regulations, against requirements.
Ability to manage the general services functional areas: purchasing, transportation processing, inventory management, and contracts and accountable property.
Ability to establish a new network of professional working relationships with customers, colleagues and service provides, while further developing existing networks.
Ability to make decisions and solve complex problems effectively and independently and identify alternative solutions
Ability to effectively manage and lead other contactors
Ability to interact with people who have different values, cultures and backgrounds.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 
ACTIVITIES:
 
 
Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, opening filing cabinets, standing on a stool as necessary and climbing.
HEARING:
 
Must be able to hear average or normal conversation and receive ordinary information. Depending on work assignment must be able to work in a noisy work environment.
 
REPETITIVE MOTION:
 
Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.
 
VISUAL ABILITIES:
 
Acute closed vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
 
PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
 
Must be able to frequently lift light to heavy objects throughout the day.  Must be able to exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
 
Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold.  Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their work days.
