Natchitoches Pilgrim’s is seeking a dedicated and detailed oriented Hatchery Production hourly team member. In this role, you will be instrumental in the incubation and care of the Hatchery stock, ensuring optimal conditions for hatching and growth. Your contributions will directly affect the efficiency and productivity to play a key role in delivering healthy, high-quality chicks for our broiler operation. You will work in a fast-paced environment focused on safety, animal welfare, and product quality while supporting continuous improvement through attention to detail and teamwork. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain optimal conditions for incubators, including temperature, humidity and airflow.
- Perform routine checks on eggs and hatchlings to assess health and development.
- Implement biosecurity measures to prevent contamination and disease spread within the hatchery.
- Assist in the handling and transportation off eggs and hatchlings, ensuring proper care and minimal stress.
- Document and report observations related to hatchlings rates, health issues and environmental conditions.
- Perform daily setup, dismantling, and sanitization of equipment to maintain operational readiness and cleanliness.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain cleanliness and organization within the Hatchery.
- Fill in for absent team members, guide and train staff, assist with safety monitoring, and lead in addressing questions or concerns.
- Participate in egg set, chick processing, cross training, and training guide development; work varied shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends.

What You’ll Need:
- Education:
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Basic understanding of animal and husbandry practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast- paced environment.
- Experience:
- Experience in a hatchery or similar agricultural environment.
- Knowledge of avian species and their care requirements.
- Familiarity with biosecurity protocols and practices.
- 1 or more years of production or manufacturing environment. Poultry or food industry experience is a plus.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in using temperature and humidity monitoring equipment.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
- Strong to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to adapt to changing condition and work under pressure
- A proactive attitude and a commitment to quality and safety.
- Effective communication both orally and in writing, ability to work with minimal supervision
- Physical requirements:
- Work in high-temperature environments (100+°F), tolerate odors, and handle repetitive lifting/pushing of 50 lbs or more with continuous physical activity.
- Must not raise any poultry or birds
