JOB SUMMARY:
 
Responsible for supervision of all maintenance aspects of the facility including facility grounds, building, refrigeration, HVAC, and office areas. Takes direction from Facilities Maintenance Manager on scheduling, facility preparation, and PM execution. Direct supervisor for assigned employees. Manages maintenance personnel for day-to-day control of assigned department activities according to prescribed schedules priorities, facility flow, and processing specifications to ensure facility efficiencies are met. Evaluates assigned work performance and takes corrective action. Leads, coaches, and trains assigned personnel on work standards and ensures said standards are being followed constantly.  Are expected to use tools as required to resolve issues. 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
 
1.       Supervises and Performs highly diversified duties with respect to production and facility equipment/systems.
  1. Supervises and installs replacement motors, pumps, drives, belts, filters, gears, chains, and valves on process equipment, facility equipment,  and fork lifts.
  2. Troubleshoots pneumatic, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic machine problems and makes necessary repairs.
  3. Performs repairs to machines involving machine guarding, bolt replacement, and breakdowns due to mechanical wear.
  4. Welds machine components.
  5. Performs preventative maintenance tasks on facility equipment.
  6. Handles installations, including hooking up air, water, gas, and the alignment and leveling of equipment.
  7. In the event of an electrical emergencies, ,must be able to hook up and start generation system safely.
  8. Maintain the WWPT facility to operate within parameters safely.
  9. Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.
2.       Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain facility grounds, building and other facility equipment.
  1. Provides leadership for Maintenance technicians performing preventative maintenance, equipment installs, parts replacement, equipment troubleshooting, etc. 
  2. Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to facility and production schedules.
  3. Manages service and repair of refrigeration systems and equipment such as condensing units, compressors, and evaporators.
  4. Manages outside contractors to perform repairs on failed machinery and equipment.
  5. Understands the tools and equipment needed to do each job.
  6. Understands and determines when and what type of maintenance is needed.
  7. Determines causes of operating errors and possesses ability to tell when something is likely to go wrong before downtime occurs.
  8. Inspects or tests damaged machine parts and marks defective areas or advises supervisor of needs for repair
  9. Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.
  10. Leads equipment installations, including hooking up air, water, gas, and the alignment and leveling of equipment.
3.       Completes maintenance recordkeeping.
  1. Keeps record of all work performed.
  2. Updates maintenance history logs and completes required paperwork.
  3. Accounts for equipment used for maintenance and repairs.
4.       Understands and follows the company GMP policy.
5.       Understands and follows the company safety rules.
6.       May be required to work long hours and weekends as needed.
7.       May assume other duties as assigned.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification
  • At least 4 years of industrial maintenance experience required
  • Strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, industrial, PLC and HVAC experience
  • AAS degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Good math skills
  • Must be well-organized with good attention to detail
  • Display strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others
  • Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 
ACTIVITIES:
 
 
Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
HEARING:
 
Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
 
REPETITIVE MOTION:
 
Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.
 
VISUAL ABILITIES:
 
Acute close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
 
PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
 
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
 
Must be able to work for long hours in a further food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold.  Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for the majority of their work days.
